Good questions

A little clarity before you start.

Lessons, scheduling, payments, and everything in between.

Can I start with no Chinese at all?+

Yes. We can begin with pinyin, tones, pronunciation, and useful everyday sentences. You don't need to read Chinese characters before your first lesson.

Who are these lessons for?+

Adult learners, from complete beginners to students working on conversation, business Chinese, or HSK.

Can you explain things in English?+

Yes. I use English explanations when helpful, especially at beginner level. As your Chinese develops, we can use more Mandarin in class.

Which trial should I choose?+

Choose 25 minutes for a shorter introduction and a little practice (US$10). Choose 50 minutes for more time to explore your goals and try a mini-lesson (US$20).

How do online lessons work?+

We meet on Google Meet. I email your joining link about 10 minutes before class. You'll need working audio and a stable internet connection.

Do I need a textbook?+

We'll discuss suitable materials for your level and goals. If a paid textbook is recommended, I'll let you know before you buy it.

Will I get anything to review?+

Yes. I share lesson notes and feedback to help you review the vocabulary, grammar, and areas we worked on.

What are lesson credits?+

1 credit covers a 50-minute lesson; 0.5 credit covers a 25-minute lesson. Mix both lengths within your package. Trials are purchased separately.

Will I be charged again automatically?+

No. Trials and packages are one-time purchases. Buy another package when you want more credits. I'll remind you when your balance is running low.

Do unused credits expire?+

Unused credits remain available. Book them into open lesson times or request a refund of the unused balance.

Can I keep the same time each week?+

Yes, subject to availability. We can arrange weekly slots. If your credits don't cover reserved times, I'll release affected reservations manually. Already confirmed lessons stay booked.

How far ahead must I book?+

At least 12 hours for trials and 2 hours for regular lessons. All times are displayed in your selected time zone.

Can I cancel or reschedule?+

At least 8 hours before class, you can cancel or reschedule without losing credits. Ongoing package students have one free late cancellation or reschedule in total. It doesn't reset with new purchases and doesn't apply to trials. Once used, further changes less than 8 hours before class are unavailable; missed lessons are charged.

Can I change my trial booking?+

With at least 8 hours’ notice, you can cancel or reschedule free of charge, with no one-change limit. With less notice, you have one free trial reschedule in total, requested before the lesson starts; the original payment carries over. Late cancellations, further late changes and missed trials are charged in full. This is separate from the regular-lesson exception. Contact William to arrange changes.

What if William cancels?+

I aim to give at least 12 hours' notice. If I cancel or miss a lesson, its credit is retained or returned for rebooking, even at shorter notice. Your one-time late-change exception isn't used.

Can I get a refund for unused credits?+

Yes. Refunds use the original price paid for unused credits in each purchase. Email 3303893189@qq.com to arrange a refund. Older payments may need another agreed method.

How can I pay?+

Pay for an individual lesson with PayPal. Payments are in US dollars and never renew automatically. For packages or a personally agreed rate, contact William before paying.
